Arbat Stars Hotel and Apartments (ex Marriott Novy Arbat)

+ The room is good

− The reception wasn’t helpful

+ I used junior suite, wonderful view with arbat street. clean and very new room condition. reception desk guy was extremely kind. very close from arbat street, 10mins from city center(with taxi)

− dinner included, but even breakfast was better than dinner

+ During check in there was a polite girl who did a birthday for my daughter she was amazing and respectful. She also checked us in earlier than check in time. I wish i can remember her name but i will mention the checked in date July 31st 2025 at morning time.

− On the other hand, there were 2 women during checkout. They were freaking discriminated us and they were so rude and not respectful they did not even welcome foreign people at all. The made may day bad and so miserable. One of them by the way was a night shift manager.

+ Liked the hotel, its location, rooms were clean, space 25m, air condition and bed all the above made my stay pleasant and relaxing.

− خاب ضني في الموقع الي حجزت فيه طلبت غرفتين منفصلات و تفاجأت انه غرفه وصاله وحاول الي في الاستقبال يساعدنا بس الزمنا ندفع حول 800 دولار غير كذا لم يسلمنا الغرفه لين دفعنا المبلغ الي طلبه ل تغير الحجز و اصلن نحن حجزنا غرفتين

+ The location

− 1. My room was in the 10th floor which doesn’t have good view., the window was high which didn’t permit me to view outside. 2. The bed and bed mattress were very old and bad. 3. No concierge which is very bad. 4. The refrigerator in the room was not working and not fixed neither replaced.

− Unfortunately as an architect and hotel expert ,i know the hotel classification,this hotel is not Marriot nor is 5 stars for the following reasons: ▪️the reception don’t know the meaning of the word smile ▪️No consiarge desk or luggage man in check in ▪️No security check in entrance Worse treating to guest and they assume all the guests are thieves ,as when we request for an extra bed for the children they ask us to come down to pay first? ▪️When we request a taxi from the hotel its pretty difficult because the hotel has no place for the car to stop ▪️They classify guests on nationality? ▪️elevators found with animals pee on the floor ▪️Breakfast lounge unorganized and nobody helps and the manger is the worst ▪️Room toilet is very small for 5 star hotel ▪️We try to let them book for activity in moscow and they gave us more than double the actual price ▪️Crew of the hotel including the duty manger whom we met need hospitality training and skills for treating guests and his target should be to satisfy guests who chooses this hotel

− Very bad treatment from the hotel manager calling us at 1 am to come and pay the room charges, even though we have paid all rooms charges on the second day. We have informed them that we have paid in cash for all rooms , but still did not believe us and bring two security men to our room at 1 am to pay 18000 R because the reception made a mistake and asked us to pay for one day less for one room, but the manager thought that we did not want to pay and did not admit that a receptionist mistake. We inform her that we will come and pay in morning , but refused and brought 2 security men and forced us to pay at 1 am. This is unprofessional attitude from this hotel manager and I surely recommend you all not to come to this hotel.

− Russian "Europeanisation" is not good in all the way. For a hotel with prestige is not nice to kick out in snow the smoking guest. A smoking lounge would be welcome, specially in the winter.

+ We love the hotel , its in between, 20min to red sequer by walk , staff was helpful

+ Location was nice , services at the was so vary , security, what’s nearby, rooms , atmosphere was so nice at all

− First reservation front desk was so strict with checking in at late night there was no money exchange so I couldn’t have everything local currency and he could take our passports and wait to pay in morning and also leave the amount in US Dollar as deposit instead of saying : wait in the lobby until until shoppes opens !!!?

+ تنظيف يومي للغرف تلبية طلب الضيف الموظفين يقدمون خدماتهم بشكل ممتاز سواء الاستقبال او عمال التنظيف موقعه في شارع اربات

− المسافة من موقع الفندق إلى الساحة الحمراء يتطلب مشي في حدود ربع ساعة بالنسبة لكبار السن متعب اما الشباب و الرياضين مع الجو الرائع يعتبر عادي

− No swimming pool , when I asked them to give me small money to give it to taxi driver they told me they don’t have change

+ The house is very near the Ermitaga. Room is comfortable and clean. Good for owner, condition, and service.

− First of all , it marriott so you have a different image from before entering only. Visually I was satisfied but about the receptionist the one in the morning shift were not welcoming and plus they were not rude but arrogant, in the evening shift the receptionist were ok. The main issue was after paying so much like around 20k for 2 nights there was no AC working in the room 1 night we slept without ac and the second they offered us a diff room but it was not possible for us to pack everything and go to other room so they gave us fan but still it was very hot. The hotel is great the rooms are also good but the the main thing is comfort which is lacking
